Upward Bound Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for consideration for an award the applicant must:
• Be a graduating senior and a participant in Upward Bound at CSU Chico
• Have a grade point average of 2.5
• Be enrolled in a two-year or four-year university in the fall following graduation
Must Provide
• Essay: Please provide a personal statement or essay of no more than 250 words for each of the following prompts:
- Describe your college and career aspirations and how you plan to achieve them
- What motivates you to pursue your goals, and how do you stay focused on them?
- Share a significant challenge you've overcome and how it has contributed to your personal growth?
- How has Upward Bound helped you grow emotionally and mentally?
• Please provide the name, title, phone number and email address of someone who knows you well and can speak about your background. It can be your Upward Bound advisor, a teacher, coach, mentor or counselor. The scholarship committee will reach out to this individual.
