Fund Purpose
The purpose of the Fund shall be to raise money to provide financial help to youths in the Butte County area who have a financial barrier to participating in outdoor activities and programs. This may include school programs and activities, as well as independent programs such as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

For the last 6 years our community has struggled due to the devastating effects of the Campfire; many families have been negatively impacted financially because of it.
Our local organization, Friends of Outdoor Adventures, wants to help kids in our area join outdoor activities that will help heal our youth from the devastation they have lived through and help the families with some of that financial burden.
On behalf of the youth within our community, I, with the help of other excited individuals, have created a fund under North Valley Community Foundation to help raise money to provide financial help to kids in the Butte County area who possibly have a financial barrier when it comes to participating in outdoor activities and programs. We would love to assist families by taking away some of the financial burden, help fund startup fees for youths to join outdoor activities, help pay for the gas for the bus ride to a snowboarding meet, pay for uniforms necessary, etc. This financial help may also include school programs and activities, as well as independent programs such as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, etc. All awards shall be made directly to the program on behalf of successful applicants.
