In the immediate aftermath of a disaster, pressing needs quickly arise -- and those needs almost always require money. Whether it's food, shelter, clothing or any other resource, the rapid distribution of resources can't occur unless there is funding to purchase those items. Our Disaster Immediate Relief Fund is designed to raise funding before a disaster so we can rapidly deploy proactive grants to nonprofit organizations, local agencies and other groups working directly with survivors.
Fund helps winter storm emergency response
A drought-busting winter did wonders for the North Valley environment but strained residents in extraordinary ways.
In the Sierra foothills, snow left some residents unable to leave their homes while in the valley, others were isolated by floodwaters.
Several nonprofit organizations did what they do best, stepping up to help with relief efforts. And North Valley Community Foundation did what we do best, supporting those nonprofits with grants to keep their operations running.
