North Valley Community Foundation Donation Deadline Nears

Chico, California (September 8, 2008) – The end is approaching for Annie B’s Community Drive, with over 150 charitable causes in Butte, Glenn, Tehama and Colusa counties participating in this program to stimulate donations. North Valley Community Foundation is challenging our region with $500,000 in percentage grants (over five years) for local nonprofits. The Annie B’s Community Drive is designed to encourage giving to local nonprofits during a two-month donation period, ending September 30.

During the 2007 campaign, $787,000 in contributions for local nonprofits were matched by $100,000 from North Valley Community Foundation, allowing donors’ contributions to make an even greater difference in the region. Donors to North Valley Community Foundation made this possible, with a total of  $889,000 distributed to local nonprofits following the 2007 campaign.

Donors to nonprofit organizations participating in the Annie B’s Community Drive must make their contributions by September 30. Gifts are made to NVCF by a donor on behalf of the qualified local charity.  Nonprofits receive 100% of these donor contributions plus monies will be added from over $100,000 in grant funds available. The total amount of donations determines the match percentage.
Following the conclusion of the drive, a celebration will be held on October 11 at the Chico City Plaza involving all participating nonprofits and community supporters.
All nonprofit organizations in Butte, Tehama, Colusa and Glenn Counties were eligible to participate but had to sign up by August 1.  Visit www.nvcf.org for details, or call NVCF Program Officer Lee Laney at 891-1150 ext. 23.

In addition to increasing support for local nonprofit organizations, the goal of Annie B’s Community Drive is to help organizations fulfill their missions in sustainable ways and to increase support from donations. Many participating organizations will use this opportunity to create and/or increase their endowment funds at NVCF.
