ChicoSol is a bilingual Webzine running stories written by both professional journalists and student writers. We’re exploring social issues like poverty, gang violence and mental illness, all the while providing a crossover publication for Spanish-speaking readers as well as English-speaking readers interested in the issues we cover and/or Latino culture.

We have three goals: 1) provide the community with more coverage of social issues through reporting, writing and article distribution; 2) support young writers by giving them a place to publish and a way to connect with professionals; 3) become a vehicle for community discussion. We’ve issued an invitation to nationally-renowned author and speaker Luis Rodriguez (see our lead story “A Man’s Mission”) to speak in Chico at a forum on gang violence.
We’re an all-volunteer operation, but have already distributed news articles to three area newspapers!
