Youth Action Project:
Mini-Grant Program

NVCF’s Youth Advisory Council is excited to announce our Youth Action Project Mini-Grant Program, designed to support grassroots efforts that promote youth mental health, wellness and social connectedness in Butte County.

We believe in empowering local groups and community members to create positive change for young people.

 

This grant program will award $20,000 total in grants ranging from $500 to $1,500 selected by our Youth Advisory Council members.

Who Can Apply:

  • Nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status or fiscal sponsorship

  • School-based programs and clubs

  • Youth-led community groups (with adult advisor/fiscal sponsor)

  • Informal community groups/individuals working with a fiscal sponsor

We want to fund creative, community-based projects and programs that:

  • Directly benefit youth mental health, wellness and/or social connectedness

  • Can demonstrate clear, measurable impact for youth

  • Will be implemented within one year of receiving funding

  • Serve youth in Butte County

  • Nonprofit and youth-serving organizations are eligible to apply.

Who Qualifies and How to Apply

Annual Grant Cycle

Three of our larger grant programs — the Aaron Rodgers, Donna Murrill and Camp Fire funds — accept applications just one month a year. Watch for announcements and updates on our website.

A limited number of grants may be considered on a special basis outside that cycle. To inquire about funding possibilities, please send an email to grants@nvcf.org.

Camp Fire Fund Grant Program

This grant program will make grants to qualifying nonprofit organizations and government agencies that remain active in recovery in the Camp Fire footprint.

Erin Jergentz Junior Golf Memorial Fund Grant Program

The Erin Jergentz Junior Golf Memorial Fund aims to provide resources and experiences for underserved youth who are interested in golf in Butte and Plumas counties.

Community Impact Grant

The Community Impact Fund of The Hignell Companies Foundation provides financial resources for the community in areas they are eager to make an impact.

Dixie Fire Grant Program

Immediate assistance is our top priority facing the community as the Dixie Fire continues to threaten communities.

Chico Children's Endowment Fund Grant Program

The Chico Children’s Endowment Fund (CCEF) is a charitable fund of the North Valley Community Foundation dedicated to benefiting children in Chico and its surrounding areas with unmet physical, emotional or mental needs.

Food Insecurity Relief Fund Grant Programs

Food Insecurity Relief Fund Grant Programs to support local food banks and organizations with food distribution programs.

Stiefvater Senior Endowment Grant Program

The Emil and Leonora Stiefvater Senior Endowment exists to support the emotional, physical and/or spiritual needs of older adults.

Friends of Outdoor Adventures Grant Program

The Friends of Outdoor Adventures Grant Programs aims to provide financial help to youths in the Butte County area who have a financial barrier to participating in outdoor activities and programs.

Music Therapy Impact Fund Grant

Music therapy is the use of evidence-based music interventions to address spiritual, developmental and physical needs of the whole person.

City of Chico City Arts Grant

This grant program aims to support Chico Arts Organizations and Artists so that they may make quality arts and cultural work, performances, and exhibitions available and accessible to members of the Chico community.
